The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies arrived at the residence of the 48-year-old woman, who has a pending drug distribution case against her. During the arrest, deputies allegedly found over $2,200 on the woman, and some of the deputies reportedly identified various indications of drug use. During the time, they claim to have noticed an incoming text message that urged the woman to put everything in the safe. They say created suspicion, and a search warrant was obtained.
Deputies claim to have discovered and seized multiple items throughout the residence that are typically used for drug distribution, along with methamphetamine, a handgun and ammunition in the safe. Along with drug possession with the intent to distribute, the court advised her that firearm possession by an offender, and having drugs near a firearm might be added to the charges. The judge issued a $50,000 cash-only bond.
