The Boulder County Drug Task Force recently arrested a man who has no prior felony convictions recorded in Colorado. The Superior resident faces various drug charges that followed an investigation that involved several controlled drug purchases starting in January. The arrest affidavit indicates that the purchaser who carried out the controlled buys reported that the 50-year-old man carried a briefcase containing various drugs that he allegedly obtained on the dark web, using cryptocurrency as payment.
Court documents show that a search of the man’s home yielded various types of drugs along with over 100 marijuana plants that he cultivated in his home. The search followed several controlled buys, which also led to a search of the accused man’s vehicle. Police say he consented to the vehicle search after admitting that they would find cash and drugs in the SUV.
Court records indicate that law enforcement found a snakeskin bag that contained a variety of illegal substances. Reportedly, they seized various types of pills, LSD, cocaine, methcaninone, a digital scale, a methamphetamine pipe and cash to the value of $16,800. The accused man now faces 12 charges, including suspicion of possession and intent to distribute drugs.
