Five Colorado men are accused of being involved in drug activities in Pueblo. Law enforcement recently reported that the five individuals are facing multiple charges, including drug charges, after the authorities claim to have busted a drug ring. Authorities say the investigation that targeted several more gangs was launched last December.
Three properties were investigated, including an auto repair business — aptly named “Get Your Fix Automotive” — and two residences. Investigators allege an undercover agent went to the automotive business earlier this year and purchased over 100 grams of heroin along with a firearm from one of the accused men. This man was indicted in federal court on criminal charges in September. The other four men were recently indicted on federal drug charges, and three of them also faced firearms charges.
Authorities say after obtaining search warrants, 28 kilograms of heroin valued at about $8 million, 50 grams of cocaine, 2.5 pounds of methamphetamine and $540,000 in cash were seized in the three properties. Furthermore, officers say they found 35 firearms, many of which were stolen, along with one automatic weapon. Reportedly, the five men are all in custody.
Facing federal drug charges is serious, and convictions can have devastating impacts on the lives of the convicted individuals and their families. For that reason, any person in Colorado who faces drug charges will likely seek the support of an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Having a lawyer to protect his or her legal rights and devise a strong defense strategy may lead to the best possible outcome under the circumstances.
