Auto-pedestrian accidents claim too many lives in Colorado

Whenever pedestrians and bicyclists share the roads with automobile operators in Colorado cities, lives will be threatened. Although all road users must comply with the rules of the road, cyclists typically have only crash helmets, and pedestrians have nothing to protect them from injuries. For this reason, most auto\-pedestrian accidents result in life-threatening injuries or death.

One such accident recently claimed the life of a woman who was cycling in Colorado Springs. A police report indicates that a man and a woman were riding their bicycles westbound on a local road when a vehicle struck the female rider. Emergency services responded to a call reporting the incident at about 2:30 p.m. on a recent Saturday.

Multiple paramedics and other responders arrived at the scene to find the victim laying on the road with critical injuries. Sadly, all efforts to save her life were in vain. Her death was pronounced at the accident scene. According to police, there was no reason to suspect the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and no charges were filed at the time of the incident.

When auto-pedestrian accidents claim the lives of loved ones, many financial consequences typically exacerbate the trauma experienced by the surviving family members. However, financial relief may be pursued by filing wrongful death lawsuits in a Colorado civil court. Proving negligence and navigating the legal procedures alone can be overwhelming, and for this reason, experienced personal injury attorneys can help navigate through the civil justice system. With the support and guidance of skilled professionals, monetary judgments are often awarded to cover financial and emotional losses.
